Mae'r Athro Katie Webb yn arbenigwr a gydnabyddir yn rhyngwladol ym maes addysg gweithwyr iechyd proffesiynol ac ymchwil gysylltiedig i'r gweithlu gofal iechyd. Mae'r Athro Webb wedi gweithio'n academaidd ym maes iechyd a gwaith ers 19 mlynedd. Mae ei chefndir ymchwil ym maes iechyd meddwl a gwneud penderfyniadau, maes academaidd ei PhD (2014).
Yr Athro Webb yw'r Uwch Diwtor Personol ar gyfer rhaglen MBBCh ac mae'n angerddol am gefnogi myfyrwyr drwy gydol oes eu hastudiaethau, gan arfogi myfyrwyr â'r offer i gyflawni eu potensial, rheoli cyfnodau pontio a chael y gorau o'u haddysg a'u hyfforddiant. Mae'r Athro Webb yn gweithio'n agos iawn gyda'r Tîm Ymateb i Ddatgeliadau ac yn cyflwyno sesiynau i fyfyrwyr a staff sy'n codi ymwybyddiaeth a dealltwriaeth wrth nodi trais a cham-drin a bod yn wyliwr wedi'i rymuso lle gallwn ni i gyd chwarae ein rhan i greu mannau diogel a chynhwysol sy'n effeithio ar newid mewn diwylliant.
Mae'r Athro Webb wedi gweithio ar draws gwahanol ysgolion ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, yn gyntaf fel ymchwilydd yn yr Ysgol Seicoleg a'r Ysgol Meddygaeth cyn symud i Ysgol y Gwyddorau Cymdeithasol ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd am 5 mlynedd, cyn dechrau swydd fel Darlithydd yn yr Ysgol Meddygaeth ar ôl gweithio ar ystod o astudiaethau sy'n gysylltiedig ag iechyd ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd.
Ers 2019, mae'r Athro Webb wedi arwain yr elfen werthuso ar gyfer Diploma mewn Cynllunio GIG Ysgol Busnes Caerdydd.
Yn 2022 graddiodd yr Athro Webb o'r Sefydliad Gwella Gofal Iechyd (IHI; Cambridge, UDA) Rhaglen Datblygu Proffesiynol Ymgynghorydd Gwella (IA) fel Cynghorydd Gwella (IA). Trwy feddu ar wybodaeth a sgiliau uwch i ragori yn y celfyddydau a'r wyddoniaeth o welliant, gan ddefnyddio fframwaith o sgiliau ymarferol a theori, mae Ymgynghorydd Gwella "wedi'i neilltuo i helpu i nodi, cynllunio a gweithredu prosiectau gwella trwy sefydliad, cyflawni canlyniadau llwyddiannus a newid lledaenu ar draws y system gyfan" (Institute for Healthcare Improvement).
Mae'r Athro Webb yn gweithio ar ffiniau seicoleg a'r gwyddorau cymdeithasol cymhwysol gan archwilio a deall rheoli straen a newid ymddygiad, a sut mae addysg ac ymchwil yn gwneud gwahaniaeth i arferion gweithle clinigwyr a'r effaith y gallai hynny ei chael ar ofal cleifion.
Mae portffolio addysgu'r Athro Webb yn cynnwys cydlynu prosiectau ymchwil, dulliau ymchwil, theori addysgol a dulliau addysgu ar draws astudiaethau Israddedig ac Ôl-raddedig, yn ogystal â gwella addysg a hyfforddiant clinigwyr gweithredol a gweithwyr proffesiynol perthynol i iechyd.
Dyfeisiodd a datblygodd yr Athro Webb gyda'i chydweithiwr Julie Browne CARDiph (www.cardiph.com ), gêm gardiau newydd sy'n canolbwyntio ar sgiliau cynllunio addysgol ac addysgu ar gyfer addysgwyr gofal iechyd rhyngbroffesiynol.
Mae'r Athro Webb wedi arwain nifer o werthusiadau effaith uchel yn yr addysg a'r hyfforddiant sy'n gysylltiedig ag iechyd. Yn ei rôl bresennol mae'n arwain ar ymchwil sy'n archwilio parodrwydd ar gyfer ymarfer, pontio, hunaniaeth a gwerthuso hyfforddiant a gweithrediad Gwella Ansawdd mewn Gofal Sylfaenol ac Eilaidd.
Ymhlith y prosiectau cyfredol mae gwerthuso rhaglen SuppoRTT HEE; Clercyddiaeth hydredol Ysgol Meddygaeth Caerdydd ('GOFALWR'); rhaglen o waith sy'n archwilio dealltwriaeth, mynychder a rheolaeth Burnout yn y flwyddyn olaf Myfyrwyr Meddygol, Hyfforddeion Sylfaen a hyfforddwyr Ôl-raddedig; a Gwella Addysg Iechyd Cymru Rhywedd, Tegwch a Thegwch yn y Gweithle.
Yn ei gwaith mae llawer o'r meysydd hyn yn cysylltu'n uniongyrchol â materion fel diogelwch cleifion.
Mae'r Athro Webb wedi cyhoeddi'n helaeth ac wedi cyflwyno'n eang yn genedlaethol ac yn rhyngwladol.
Mae'r Athro Webb wedi ysgrifennu neu gyd-ysgrifennu dros 50 o gyhoeddiadau a adolygwyd gan gymheiriaid ar addysg feddygol, gan gynnwys llyfr a gomisiynwyd gan Wiley-Blackwell How to Succeed at Revalidation.
