I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Engineering at Cardiff University and my research background is boradly within the area of medical engineering. My areas of research interest is in the area of surgical devices and implants and also in the complex behaviour of soft materials. As part of my PhD I research electrosurgical vessel sealing devices, which included studtying the material behaviour of blood vessels. I have since go on to work on projects investigating the tribological performance of hip implants and most recently worked on an EPSRC funded research project investigating the behaviour of soft cellular structures.
