Rwy'n gyfathrebwr ac addysgwr gwyddoniaeth egnïol ac aml-arobryn sy'n angerddol am wneud gwyddoniaeth yn fwy difyr, cynhwysol a hygyrch. Fel cyfrannwr academaidd a rheolaidd y genhedlaeth gyntaf at radio a theledu lleol yn ogystal â sylwebydd ar gyfer y Ganolfan Cyfryngau Gwyddoniaeth, rwy'n frwd dros rannu fy ngwybodaeth a newid meddyliau pobl sy'n meddwl yn nerfus nad yw gwyddoniaeth yn addas iddyn nhw. Gallaf ddod â'm harbenigedd mewn ymchwil wyddonol, ymgysylltu â'r cyhoedd, addysgeg ac addysgu i'm gwaith.
Cefais radd BSc Anrhydedd mewn Biocemeg cyn cwblhau PhD mewn Niwrowyddoniaeth Ymddygiadol a chlefyd Huntington. Yna cefais gymrodoriaeth ymchwil fawreddog i weithio gyda theuluoedd sydd wedi'u heffeithio gan glefyd Huntington. Rwy'n angerddol am addysgu a dysgu. Dyfarnwyd Cymrodoriaeth Addysgu Genedlaethol i mi yn 2023 ac rwyf wedi cael fy achredu gyda Chymrodoriaeth Uwch yr Academi Addysg Uwch. Mae gen i hefyd Dystysgrif Ôl-raddedig mewn Treialon Clinigol o Ysgol Hylendid a Meddygaeth Drofannol Llundain, a gwblheir yn rhan-amser trwy ddysgu o bell. Rwyf bellach yn gweithio fel Darllenydd mewn Niwrowyddoniaeth, yn addysgu'r genhedlaeth nesaf o egin wyddonwyr, ochr yn ochr â hyn, mae gen i rôl eilaidd fel Deon Cyswllt ar gyfer Cydraddoldeb, Amrywiaeth a Chynhwysiant ar gyfer Coleg y Gwyddorau Biofeddygol a Bywyd.
Rwy'n siaradwr cyhoeddus brwd ac yn anelu at ysbrydoli fy nghynulleidfa gyda'm brwdfrydedd a'm gallu heintus i gyflwyno sesiynau deniadol, rhyngweithiol a hygyrch. Rwyf wedi adeiladu enw da am untanglo'r technegol academaidd a'i gyfieithu i gynnwys difyr, perthnasol a hygyrch. Credaf fod dealltwriaeth ac ymgysylltiad cyhoeddus mewn ymchwil yn hanfodol. Rwy'n llysgennad Gwyddoniaeth, Technoleg, Peirianneg a Mathemateg (STEM) ac yn aml gellir dod o hyd iddo mewn digwyddiadau ymgysylltu â'r cyhoedd ac allgymorth sy'n ennyn diddordeb y cyhoedd mewn gwyddoniaeth ac ymchwil. Rwy'n gyfathrebwr gwyddoniaeth brwd ac rwyf wedi cyhoeddi sawl darn cyfathrebu, yn ogystal â'm hymchwil cynradd ym maes addysg gwyddoniaeth.
I gael rhagor o wybodaeth am fy ngweithgareddau cyfathrebu gwyddoniaeth, gweler fy nghyfrifon cyfryngau cymdeithasol a fy ngwefan bersonol (emmayhnell.com).

Ymchwil
Research Overview:
My research largely focuses on neurodegenerative diseases. My previous fellowship funded by Health and Care Research Wales focused on using computerised cognitive training for people with Huntington's disease. I am interested in disorders of the brain and what can be done to help people who are living with these disorders.
Alongside traditional research I have growing research interests in pedagogy and research regarding science communication and public engagement.
Research Funding:
