Overview
Mr. Hani Alghamdi is a PhD student in the field of Electrical Engineering at the School of Engineering, Cardiff University. His doctoral research will be linked with the US–UK Global Center for Clean Energy and Equitable Transportation Solutions (CLEETS), specifically within Thrust (2): Transport Energy Infrastructure. His research interests include transport electrification, smart grids, and power systems, with a focus on enhancing the resilience, efficiency, and sustainability of modern energy infrastructures.

Biography
In January 2025, prior to joining Cardiff University, Mr. Alghamdi earned his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Energy and Power focus) with First Honor from The George Washington University, USA. He is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Jubail Industrial College, KSA, where he has served as a lecturer for more than eight years, delivering extensive academic and training experience in core electrical power courses. In addition to his academic background, he has gained valuable industry experience working with leading engineering companies such as Bechtel, AECOM, and Schlumberger. Mr. Alghamdi has been awarded a competitive scholarship to pursue his PhD studies at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom.
