Overview
I consider myself an educator, mentor, and dedicated facilitator of change. I hold a Diploma in Islamic Studies, a Master’s degree in Islam and Pastoral Care and a Master’s degree in Pharmacy. My career encompasses teaching, leadership in the charity sector, and experience in community and regulatory pharmacy. I envision a world where knowledge is realised to ennoble hearts, minds and actions.
As a doctoral student at Cardiff University, based at the Islam-UK Centre, I am researching the role of Muslim chaplains in supporting the religious, spiritual, and mental well-being needs in higher education institutions in Britain. In addition to my interest in Muslim chaplaincy/spiritual care, I am interested in the intersection between religion and mental health. I hope my PhD will contribute towards a better understanding of religion helping improve the wellbeing of individuals and society as a whole.
