Overview

Lian Ziqi is currently pursuing a PhD in Architecture at Cardiff University, specialising in the preservation and reuse of industrial heritage value, community engagement, and urban micro-renewal. Throughout her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, as well as her professional career, she has dedicated herself to old factory conversion projects and local industrial transformation. During her doctoral studies, she focuses on constructing a composite framework integrating ‘value assessment, community participation, and micro-renewal’, while actively participating in various heritage-related activities both domestically and internationally.

From 2014 to 2018, she graduated from the Department of Environmental Design at Donghua University in Shanghai. From 2018 to 2019, she studied for the Master of Arts in Architectural Design at Cardiff University. Following this, she worked as an assistant architect at Shanghai Archi Ant Firm (ANT). An architectural design project she contributed to was honoured with the 2019-2020 Meishang Award for Innovation Concept Design Excellence.
