Research

Myopia, also known as short sightedness, is a condition that usually develops during childhood. Although the visual consequences are often corrected using glasses, contact lenses or refractive surgery, myopia is a risk factor for the development of sight threatening conditions.

At present, therapies to slow myopia progression are widely utilised in clinical settings. My PhD research is focussed on how genetic information may be more accurately utilised to identify which children may be at risk of developing myopia.
