Overview

I completed my four-year undergraduate Chemistry degree, 1:1 MChem(Hons), at Lancaster University in 2022. I undertook a third-year project that involved collaboration with Director of Energy Lancaster Professor Harry Hoster and sought to investigate the degradation patterns of lithium-ion batteries and identify conditions under which the longevity of the energy storage systems was most negatively impacted. My final year research project was conducted under the supervision of Dr Nick Fletcher in which the DNA binding properties of a series of Re(I) complexes bearing functionalised bipyridine ligands were explored.

My current research interests surround exploring new synthetic routes towards the formation of novel redox-active organic compounds, the coordination of these ligands to Group 10 metal centres, and their application in biological systems.
