Research
Oral epidemiology programme
I contribute to the Public Health Wales commissioned oral epidemiology programme.The all-Wales surveys gather clinical data on the prevalence and severity of caries within a sample of school children from across Wales, focussing on a specific age each academic year.
Stakeholder engagement to optimise the impact of supervised toothbrushing programmes (STEP2)
Commissioned by Designed to Smile, the qualitative study explores the barriers and facilitators to primary schools’ positive engagement in the supervised toothbrushing scheme.
Biography
I am a healthcare services researcher with a special interest in the dental services and oral health.
My work has involved collaborating with external educational, health, social care, regulatory, and governmental organisations. In my pre-PhD post as a Research Associate in CUREMeDE I worked on studies on professional education, workforce development, and skill-mix in healthcare services such as general dental practices, community pharmacies, and optometry.
