Overview
I am a research assistant currently undertaking a project looking at the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance in drain biofilms throughout a range of environments, including: healthcare, home and veterinary. My research area of interest is infection prevention and control, with a focus on disinfectants and biofilms. Outside of my laboratory research I am a STEM ambassador and involved with scientific outreach activities, as well as a Microbiology Society Champion.

Biography
I completed my undergraduate degree in Marine Biology at Newcastle University before attending Cardiff University for a Masters of Research in the School of Biosciences. Following this I joined the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences where I completed my PhD on Dry Surface Biofilms (DSB) with sponsorship from industry. My PhD focused on how can we progress in combatting DSB in healthcare facilities. Although primarily laboratory based, I also undertook surveys and interviews to aid in our current understanding of the knowledge of healthcare professionals for my PhD.
