Overview
Responsibilities
Michael Corr is a lecturer and module leader for design in year 3. He is currently undertaking a PhD by practice in architecture and urban planning at the Estonia Academy of Arts in Tallinn, as part of ADAPT-r, a European wide PhD programme. Michael has been practicing and teaching architecture and urban design for over 10 years. Prior to joining the WSA Michael was a lecturer at the CASS in London, RMIT Melbourne and MIDAS school of architecture in Chennai and has been an invited critic across the UK and Internationally.
Previously, Michael was director of the architecture centre for Northern Ireland, where he was responsible for the commissioning of multiple architecture, arts and research projects across the region and internationally. He was a senior urban designer with Design for London at the Greater London Authority, responsible for delivering the Mayors Great Spaces Initiative and advising public and private organisations across the capital on major regeneration projects. Most recently Michael was projects director at Publica, a London based consultancy, leading the design of public realm projects in west London working with private and public sector clients.
He is co-founder of the architecture and urban design practice Pie and current director of Sult. (www.sult.ie)
