Overview

As one of the Research Entities Manager within Cardiff University’s Research Service, I work strategically with the University’s research centres and institutes to support their development, strengthen their operations and maximise their contribution to Cardiff’s research ambitions. My role involves working collaboratively with academic leaders, centre and institute managers, professional services colleagues and external partners to understand their priorities, address challenges and identify opportunities for growth and development.

I support research entities in navigating the complexities of the University environment, helping to connect people, expertise and resources across institutional boundaries. By developing strong working relationships with research leaders and professional services teams, I aim to facilitate effective collaboration, share good practice and ensure that research entities have access to the guidance and support they need to thrive.

A key aspect of my role is contributing to the strategic development of the Research Entities Team, helping to shape a coordinated and responsive service that meets the evolving needs of Cardiff’s research community. This includes identifying common challenges and opportunities across centres and institutes, improving processes and ways of working, and developing approaches that enhance operational effectiveness, sustainability and strategic alignment.

Through relationship-building, collaborative problem-solving and a focus on continuous improvement, I work to strengthen the environment in which Cardiff’s research centres and institutes operate. My aim is to enable research entities to fulfil their potential, support interdisciplinary collaboration, enhance research excellence and impact, and contribute to the University’s wider research strategy and ambitions.
