Dr Leon Gooberman
Reader in Employment Relations and Business History
- Welsh speaking
Overview
I am Reader in Employment Relations and Business History at Cardiff Business School. My doctorate (2013) examined government intervention in the Welsh economy throughout the late twentieth century. I then joined the business school as a post-doctoral researcher working on an ESRC funded project examining employer collective action in the UK. Before obtaining my doctorate, I worked on economic development research and policy for organisations including PwC and Cardiff Council.
I research two areas. One is how and why employers organise and act collectively. The other is the relationship between economy and state in modern Wales.
