Overview

Sally Griffith is a Research and Development (R&D) Producer at media.cymru, leading on Skills, News and creating a fairer and more inclusive funding programme for the media sector in Wales.   media.cymru is a £50 million, 23 partner consortium, funded by UKRI, Cardiff Capital Region and Welsh Government, designed to boost inclusive and sustainable media sector innovation in Wales. 

Having worked in media innovation at Clwstwr, and cinema exhibition and film education for over 25 years, Sally brings together audiences, industry, academia and communities to create inspiring, accessible and welcoming spaces, that will benefit everyone.   Sally has championed film in Wales, establishing and leading the funding and development programme BFI Film Hub for Wales during her time as Director of Cinema at Chapter Arts Centre, supporting over 200 independent venues across the country to create in-venue and site-specific cinematic experiences, festivals and special events.  Leading the Inclusive Cinema initiative for the UK, Sally helped venues across the UK to become dementia-friendly and more inclusive for both talent and audiences.  Having directed UK wide initiatives including BFI Gothic: The Dark Heart Of Film (2013) Roald Dahl On Film (2016) and Anim18: A Celebration of British Animation (2018), Sally worked with Somerset House on their Film4 Summer Screen programme (2018).   

Sally is a qualified professional coach and is a member of the Cardiff Animation Festival Advisory Group.
