Overview
Jane is a Reader in Logistics, Transport and Operations Management at Cardiff Business School. She is also the Deputy Head (Learning and Teaching - Postgraduate) of the Logistics and Operations Manegement section.
Prior to her Cardiff posts, she was appointed as a visiting lecturer and a research assistant at the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where she was also awarded her PhD in Business Administration in 2010. She holds a Foundation Diploma in Dry Cargo Chartering from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
Jane has taught at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels on a range of maritime and operations management topics. She regularly supervises MSc and PhD students in the areas of transport logistics, shipping economics, and operations management. She has achieved the status of Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Jane's main research interests are transport logistics and shipping economics and policy. She has published various peer reviewed journal articles and regularly presents her work at international logistics, transport and operations management conferences. She received the Eagle Prize for Outstanding Young Scholar in Maritime Research at the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) 2012 conference. She has co-edited a Special Issue in Transportation Research Part D on "Sustainable Transport Logistics".
