Overview
Dr Deborah Hann is a Reader in Employment Relations at Cardiff Business School. Her research focuses in two main areas:
- Dispute resolution in the workplace
- The Real Living Wage as a form of civil regulation
She has undertaken research in conjunction with Acas, the Labour Relations Agencey, the Civil Medication Council and the Living Wage Foundation. She has published her research broadly including in Industrial and Labour Relations Review, Work Employment and Society, Human Resource Management Journal and Economic and Industrial Democracy. She is member of the Editorial Board for Work, Employment and Society.
She has taught at all levels and prides herself on creative teaching approaches. Currently she is working with a local community organising group Citizens UK to suppoort the development of authentic learning and embed public value in the leaders of tomorrow.

Dr Deborah Hann is a Reader in Employment Relations at Cardiff Business School. Her research focuses in two main areas:
- Dispute resolution in the workplace
- The Real Living Wage as a form of civil regulation
She has published in journals including Work, Employment and Society; ILR Review; Human Reosurce Management Journal; Economic and Industrial Democracy and Industrial Relations Journal. She has recently co-authored 'The Real Living Wage: Civil Regulation and the Employment Relationship' and co-edited the 2023 LERA international edited volume on conflict resolution.
