As Business Manager for Flexible Lifelong Learning, I am responsible for developing and leading a three-year programme phase – bringing in key stakeholders across the University to support transformational change. Flexible Lifelong Learning is one of the activities Cardiff University is undertaking as part of the delivery of our new strategy, Our future, together, which includes a commitment to develop “a portfolio of new educational offerings including flexible, modularised, lifelong learning...”.
HEA Senior Fellow (SFHEA) and Cardiff University Education Senior Fellow.
Biography
I have over 20 years' experience in leading and managing strategic IT projects, digital learning, and research computing within the university sector.
I joined Cardiff University in 2016 as Programme Manager for Supercomputing Wales – a £16 million investment programme, part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government – to give university research teams access to powerful computing facilities. I previously led the development of a portfolio of national Welsh-medium digital learning services at the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol – including Wales' first national virtual learning environment, 'Y Porth'.
I joined Learning and Teaching Academy in 2020, and as a member of the Digital Education team, led two University-wide projects within the Education and Student Experience portfolio (2021-24) – as Business Lead for the Digital Learning Environment project, for which the Digital Education team was awarded a Cardiff University Celebrating Excellence Award in 2024 in the Excellence in Service Delivery category; and as one of the Business Leads for the Flexible Learning project that considered the University’s strategic approach to flexible learning.
