Overview

My main research interest is regarding the relationship between literature and other media, including literature and music, popular media, and social media. I have also published on and am interested in the translation of music-linked texts.

Since completing a PhD on the relationship between the work of Welsh poet T. Gwynn Jones and music in 2017, I have published on song-translations in different contexts as well as the field of musico-literary studies.

I am also co-editor of peer-reviewed journal Llên Cymru with my colleagues at the School of Welsh and have appeared on BBC Radio Cymru and BBC Radio 3 discussing my research.

I lead on and contribute to a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the School of Welsh.

Biography

I graduated in Welsh and English Literature in Bangor in 2011, before contiuning my studies with a Master’s degree on the relationship between the work of poet Gwyn Thomas and music in the School of Welsh. I completed a PhD thesis in Bangor in 2017, which was a study of the relationship between the work of 20th Century poet T. Gwynn Jones and music. I spent a semester as Visiting Fellow in the Department of Celtic Languages and Literatures in Harvard University in 2013.

Following a period of working in radio as a Researcher and Assistant Producer at Radio Cymru and Radio Wales, I joined the school of Welsh as a Lecturer in September 2019.
