Overview
Dr. Sotiris Kampanelis joined Cardiff Business School in January 2020 as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland and his research interests lie in the broad area of (macro-) development economics, economic geography, and banking. Sotiris' work has been published in the Oxford Economic Papers journal, Kyklos, and the Journal of Economic Geography. He was also awarded a grant from British Academy for his work on the effects of ancient trade routes on current local development in Australia. He has also accumulated teaching experience in economics and finance. He has taught several modules such as Applied Macroeconomics and Finance, Economics of the EU, and Financial Economics at the undergraduate level, and International Finance (Macroeconomics) at the postgraduate level.
