Biography
I am a Lecturer in Chinese Studies at Cardiff University and one of the founding members of the Chinese department within the School of Modern Languages. Since joining the University in 2017, I have designed and delivered a wide range of undergraduate modules across CEFR levels A1 to C1, with a particular emphasis on linguistic proficiency, learner autonomy, and intercultural competence.
I bring extensive experience in higher education in both the UK and Taiwan, with expertise in language instruction, pedagogical practice, curriculum design, and assessment development. My academic work extends beyond classroom teaching into learning design and academic development. I have led the development of modules and curricula, created tailored teaching and assessment materials, and overseen quality assurance processes to support effective and inclusive learning.
I also collaborate with colleagues overseas and conduct seminar on second language acquisition and curriculum design for teaching Chinese as a second/foreign language teacher training programme.
My professional interests include second language acquisition, curriculum innovation, inclusive teaching practices, and the integration of digital tools to enhance language learning.
