I have a background in psychology and have experience using both quantitative and qualitative research methods. My recent research is within the areas of cancer screening and doctor-patient communication. This includes screening and prevention of bowel cancer as well as decision-making about breast cancer treatment.

Research
My recent research is within the areas of cancer screening and doctor-patient communication. I have focused on decision-making around cancer risk management, risk reduction and treatment. This has included working on projects to understanding the psychological impact of cancer screening in high risk groups, to develop and evaluate decision support interventions and to explore new methods for screening. I am also interested in decision-making during palliative and end-of-life care.
Teaching
I have co-supervised intercalating medical students conducting their research projects towards their BSc in population medicine. I have also facilitated evidence based medicine and case based learning tutorials for medical students.
