Overview
Qin is a Senior Lecturer in Supply Chain Dynamics at the Cardiff Business School of Cardiff University, where he earned his PhD. His main research interests focus on production planning, inventory management, supply chain contracts, supply network design, and forecasting.
He has experience in delivering teaching, workshops and training to undergraduates, postgraduates and executive audiences. He has received the recognition from Chinese government for outstanding non-government sponsored students abroad in 2014.
Before his academic career, he worked in multinationals for six years, involving production, logistics, customer relationships, procurement, and management information systems.

Teaching
At Cardiff University, Qin is responsible for the core course 'Operations Management' at the postgraduate level. He also partly teaches 'Excellence in Managing Operations' (undergraduate) and 'Research Skills and Methods' (postgraduate). In addition, Qin is supervising MSc dissertations, Live Business Projects, and MBA business projects. Previously, he has taught 'Logistics Modelling', 'Lean Operation' and 'Operations Analysis' at various levels.
