I am a Lecturer, Course Leader for the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and Senior Personal Tutor at Cardiff Professional Legal Studies (CPLS) based in the School of Law and Politics.  I am a solicitor by profession and practised for many years in South Wales and Bristol before becoming a lecturer at Cardiff University during the autumn of 2015.

I teach across all the law professional courses - the LPC, BTC and GDL - and specialise in Litigation, Employment and Public Law.  I am particularly interested in pedagogy and am always looking to use innovative ways in which to teach my students and to share my considerable experience in professional practice with them.  In addition I invest a considerable amount of time in assisting students to obtain positions with law firms following the completion of their courses and continue to nurtur my excellent links with the local legal community in Cardiff, Wales and Bristol.

I am also a semi-professional photographer specialising in landscapes, nature and portraiture.  I produce a landscape calendar each year in aid of charity and have won awards for my work in the UK and the USA.

Jonathan is currently researching and writing a book aimed at GDL and conversion course students in Public Law (due for publication in 2023).

Jonathan's teaching at the Centre for Professional Legal Studies within Cardiff University's School of Law and Politics extends across all the professional courses  -  the LPC, BTC and GDL.  His specialisms are Litigation, Employment and Public Law, especially human rights.  He also supervises LLM students within the law school.
