Mr Matthew Moloughney

Teaching Associate

School of Computer Science and Informatics

Overview

I am a Teaching Associate (FHEA) and PGR student with the School of Computer Science and Informatics.

Teaching Associate:

As a Teaching Associate, I assist in the delivery of modules for undergraduate and taught post-graduate students ("Managing Change", "Fundamentals of Programming", "Algorithms, Data Structures and Programming" and "Software Engineering").

From 2019/20 I have supervised and moderated taught post-graduate student's dissertation projects.

From 2023/4, through Cardiff Universities Learning and Teaching Academy, I have mentored Associate Fellowship (AFHEA) applicants to complete their portfolio submissions.

In Autumn 2024 I received an Outstanding Contribution Award (Cardiff University, OCAS).

PGR:

My research "Developing Computerised Tools Supporting Assessment and Feedback on Assessments" considers Automated Assessment Tools (AATs) for novice programmers in the Higher Education setting.

This research has led to the development of an Adapted Assessment and Feedback Lifecycle workflow and the AAT FAFFE (Formative Assessment and Feedback For Everyone), available via the Cardiff University instance of OpenShift.

Please feel free to contact me via email for further details (MoloughneyMJ@cardiff.ac.uk).

"Developing Computerised Tools Supporting Assessment and Feedback on Assessments" is an ongoing project, expected to conclude in 2025.
