Teams and roles for Roger Morgan

Overview

I am a Law Tutor at Cardiff University with over twenty years of combined experience across industry and academia. My background spans the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors as well as higher education, supported by a degree in Biomedical Science and an MBA in Corporate Social Responsibility.

Following the completion of my Postgraduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice, I gained professional experience in personal injury and medical negligence before moving into academia. Since 2019, I have specialised in the Law of Tort (negligence), delivering teaching bilingually in English and Welsh, together with related modules including Healthcare Ethics and Law.

I am a PGDip (PCET Level 7) qualified teacher and an Accredited Mediator (CIArb). My research interests focus on alternative redress schemes for former professional rugby players affected by neurodegenerative and related conditions, with an emphasis on approaches that extend beyond purely financial compensation.

Teaching

My teaching has primarily centred on private law, with a particular focus on tort law and the law of negligence. I also contribute to teaching in related areas, including Medical Law, Healthcare Ethics and Law, Contract Law, and Criminal Law, and I am committed to delivering engaging and rigorous learning experiences for my students.
