Biography
Marion Nao is an interdisciplinary researcher whose expertise combines linguistics and social research to better understand questions of policy, practice and lived experience.
Within Designing Dying-in-Place, Marion works with stakeholders involved in end-of-life care at home, including community organisations and charities. Her research explores the social, cultural and environmental conditions that support or hinder dying at home, helping translate lived experience into evidence that can inform housing design, care provision and policy.
Marion has a PhD in Language and Communication Research from Cardiff University. She has held research or teaching roles at King's College London, The University of Edinburgh, The Open University, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, and Kanda University of International Studies, Japan. Her wider research interests include health communication, illness experiences, uncertainty and risk, language and communication policy, and institutional decision-making.
