Overview

I am one of the lecturers at the National Software Academy delivering the BSc Applied Software Engineering Degree where we collaborate with industry to develop and deliver innovative degree courses using project-based learning to improve the employability of our students.

I am Deputy Director of Learning and Teaching for PGT in the School of Computer Science and Informatics.  I Chair the Board of Studies for PGT, The School IT Committee, and a Dissertation Task and Finish Group.  I am a Member of Senate; The School Board; The School Education and Student Experience Committee; The School Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee; and The School Management Team.

I used to be Year Tutor for Y1 of BSc Applied Software Engineering, an Admissions Tutor, and a Library Representative.  I am the Institutional Contact for AWS Educate, Azure for Education, and Red Hat Academy.  I am the Academic Lead for the University LinkedIn Learning project.  I currently have 48 personal tutees and I am line manager to two members of staff.

My research and scholarship interests include: Learning and Teaching of Software Engineering, Agile Project Management, DevOps, and Cloud Computing.

Teaching

I am Module Leader for DevOps, and Agile Project Management on our BSc Applied Software Engineering Programme. I moderate modules on Software Development Skills, Developing Quality Software, Secure Software Engineering, and Agile Software Development on our BSc and MSc Programmes. I Supervise and Moderate students working on their Final Year Projects on our BSc Programmes.      I Supervise and Moderate students working on their Dissertation Projects on our MSc Programmes. I Supervise students on Work Placement on our BSc and MSc Programmes.
