Overview
Role responsibilities
I am currently seconded as the Delivery Lead for Cardiff University's Flexible Lifelong Learning Programme, where I support the development and growth of flexible, online and lifelong learning opportunities. My work focuses on digital education, strategic partnerships, online programme development, and widening access to higher education. I am particularly interested in how universities can use technology, innovative pedagogies and collaborative partnerships to enhance the learner experience, increase participation, and respond to changing workforce and societal needs.
In my substantive role as Digital Learning Manager within the Cardiff Learning and Teaching Academy, I co-develop online and blended courses with academic colleagues using appropriate technologies, supporting staff in their pedagogic use of technology and applying learning design approaches to improve the student experience. I lead digital education projects and represent the Academy on university-wide projects and committees.
I am a Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology (CMALT), a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA), and a Cardiff University Education Senior Fellow.
Specialisms
My interest is the role of higher education and online education in supporting learners throughout all stages of life and career, specifically through online learning, digital education, learning technologies, blended learning, flexible learning, learning design, e-assessment, massive open online courses (MOOCs), digital capabilities and institutional change management.

Biography
I have worked at Cardiff University for over 20 years in a variety of professional and educational development roles, including positions within Registry, the School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University Education Support, the Learning and Teaching Academy, and most recently the Institute for Flexible Lifelong Learning. I have supported the University's strategic priorities in learning, teaching, digital education and student experience, working collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues to develop innovative approaches to education. My current work focuses on digital education, online programme development, strategic partnerships, learner engagement, and widening access to higher education for diverse learners.
I have led and delivered a wide range of educational innovation and digital transformation projects, including funded online courses, Education Innovation Fund (EIF) initiatives, Cardiff University Student Education Innovation Projects (CUSEIP), and institution-wide learning technology implementations. I have also represented University departments on strategic projects, internal and national steering groups and committees, contributing to the development of policy, strategy and practice in digital education and flexible lifelong learning.
I was invited to work with the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT) at the University of Namibia, where I delivered workshops, training sessions and presentations as part of the e-learning strand of the Phoenix Project. I have facilitated Cardiff University's CMALT (Certified Membership of the Association for Learning Technology) scheme and continue to mentor and assess colleagues undertaking the University's Advance HE-accredited Fellowship programmes.
