Teams and roles for Graeme Paul-Taylor
Senior Lecturer: Physiotherapy, Director of International and Civic Mission
Overview
As the Director of International and Civic Mission in the School of Healthcare Sciences and a senior lecturer at Cardiff University, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my role. Since joining the university in 2014, I have held various positions, including Physiotherapy Practice Education lead and the Professional Head of Physiotherapy.
With a background as a qualified physiotherapist, graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1994, I specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a track record of establishing new services and roles, showcasing my ability to drive innovation and adapt to evolving needs.
While my interests span various areas, I have a particular passion for person centred care, reflective and professional practice. This focus informs my teaching approach, with a main emphasis on professional practice and the critical patient-practitioner interaction. I believe in equipping healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide compassionate and effective care.
In my current leadership position, I am dedicated to fostering international collaboration and promoting civic engagement, aligning with the university's Global Civic priorities. I am committed to empowering students, advancing research, and making a positive impact within the university and the broader community.
