Curriculum Development
Overview
As Lead for the Education Development Service, I am responsible for leading education development, enhancement and support across the University. The Service provides guidance and support across a range of thematic and strategic priorities, which sit within the Education and Student Experience portfolio.
Before joining the Learning and Teaching Academy in 2021 I was a Lecturer in the School of English, Communication and Philosophy where I also obtained my PhD in 2015, entitled 'Indepdent Wales? The Impact of Devolution on Welsh Fiction in English', which explored the relation between literature and politics in Wales, in light of devolution.
Key work/specialties
- Leading thematic work around Future Facing Pedagogies, student partnership in education development work and the implications of Generative AI for assessment design.
- Managing the Education Development Service Team, which includes curriculum development specialists and specialists within assessment and feedback, e-assessment and inclusive education.
- Working in close alignment with the University Dean for Portfolio, Curriculum and Learning Innovation on the development of a future facing curriculum and institutional support for innovative learning and teaching approaches.
- Planning and delivering a range of support to Schools and Colleges, through the development of a bespoke and open CPD programme.
