Overview

I am an academic pharmacist and health services researcher based at the Health and Care Research Wales Evidence Centre, Cardiff University. My research focuses on generating and translating evidence to improve healthcare delivery, patient safety, public health, and health policy.

Working closely with Welsh Government, NHS Wales, Social Care Wales, and other stakeholders, I conduct policy-facing research that addresses priority questions in health and social care. My work has informed major national initiatives, including the Wales Dental System Reform Programme, the rollout of the gluten-free food subsidy card scheme across NHS Wales, the introduction of mandatory licensing for special procedures in Wales, and Welsh Government strategies on mental health and suicide prevention.

I am particularly interested in patient safety, health services research, evidence synthesis, and knowledge mobilisation. Through my research, teaching, and collaborations, I aim to ensure that robust evidence informs decision-making and contributes to meaningful improvements in healthcare quality, patient outcomes, and population health.
