Overview
I am a lecturer within the Management, Employment and Organisation subject group at Cardiff Business School.
Broadly speaking, my research interests relate to critical management and organisation studies, particularly regarding issues such as power and identity in the workplace. More specifically, my research currently focusses on workplace health promotion and the discourse of workplace wellbeing. I have recently been interested in thinking about how critical approaches to workplace health promotion may lead to arguments for alternative forms of organisation.
I completed my PhD at Cardiff University in 2019. My thesis looked at workplace wellbeing programmes in terms of the power relations between employer and employee, considering what it means to be sick or healthy within the workplace. Since completing my thesis I have been working on publications relating to this research.
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and I teach on modules related to business ethics and critical management studies. I am also a departmental representative on the School's research ethics committee.
