Mae Dr Muditha Abeysekera yn Ddarlithydd mewn Systemau Ynni. Mae ei ddiddordebau ymchwil yn modelu, dylunio, gweithredu ac effeithiau economaidd-gymdeithasol systemau ynni aml-fector lleol craff. Mae'n cydlynu tîm sy'n datblygu offer cymorth penderfyniadau ar gyfer gweithredu systemau aml-ynni sector cyhoeddus mewn cydweithrediadau agos â Swyddfa Cabinet y DU, ystadau campws y Brifysgol a'r GIG. Ef yw'r arweinydd thema ar gyfer Ynni a Systemau Cyfan yn y Sefydliad Arloesi Sero Net ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd (https://www.cardiff.ac.uk/net-zero-innovation-institute/research).
Derbyniodd y B.Sc. gradd mewn Peirianneg Fecanyddol o Brifysgol Peradeniya-Sri Lanka (2010), y M.Sc. gradd mewn Peirianneg Ynni Cynaliadwy o'r Sefydliad Brenhinol Technoleg, Sweden (KTH- Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan-2012) a Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC) – Barcelona, Sbaen, a'r radd PhD mewn Peirianneg Drydanol o Brifysgol Caerdydd, y DU (2017).

- dirprwy bennaeth tîm Caerdydd ar gyfer prosiect EnergyREV Plus 'Next wave of smart local energy systems sy'n dod â 22 o brifysgolion ar draws y DU ynghyd i fynd i'r afael â heriau ar systemau ynni lleol clyfar.
- Prosiect MC2 sy'n datblygu rheolaeth newydd a phensaernïaeth system ar gyfer systemau ynni trefol sy'n cyflogi efeilliaid digidol a rhyng-gysylltiad craff i wella perfformiad a gwytnwch system .
