Diddordebau Ymchwil:
Mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn ymchwilio a deall ymarfer corff mewn cyflyrau niwrolegol fel addasydd amgylcheddol i reoli iechyd a lles.
Yn unol â hyn, nod fy ymchwil yw cael cipolwg ar ganfyddiadau a phrofiadau cleifion o'u cyflwr a'u gweithgarwch corfforol, a defnyddio theori berthnasol i ddatblygu, tanategu a gwerthuso ymyriadau wedi'u targedu i leihau anweithgarwch mewn pobl â chyflyrau niwrolegol a sicrhau cymhwysedd a throsglwyddadwyedd o ymchwil i ymarfer clinigol.
Rwy'n aelod o Weithgor Ffisiotherapi Rhwydwaith Clefyd Huntington Ewrop (http://www.ehdn.org/physiotherapy-wg/). Fel cyd-gadeirydd y grŵp o 2014-2020 arweiniais gydweithrediad rhyngwladol â Chymdeithas Huntington Ewrop i ddatblygu'r adnodd ar-lein cyntaf i gefnogi pobl â chlefyd Huntington a'r rhai sy'n cefnogi pobl â chlefyd Huntington i gymryd rhan mewn gweithgarwch corfforol (http://eurohuntington.org/active-huntingtons ).
Mae fy meysydd addysgu ar lefel israddedig ac ôl-raddedig yn cynnwys ymarfer corff mewn cyflyrau niwrolegol, dylunio a dulliau ymchwil, theori newid ymddygiad iechyd.

Ymchwil
Rhwng 2010-2016 fe wnes i gydlynu a rheoli treialon clinigol o ymarfer corff yn Clefyd Huntington. Roedd y rhain yn cynnwys un astudiaeth genedlaethol gyda safleoedd yng Nghaerdydd a Rhydychen, un arall gyda chwe safle ar draws y DU a threial rhyngwladol gyda phum safle ar draws y DU ac Ewrop. Roedd y rolau hyn hefyd yn cynnwys darparu ymyriadau, gweithio un-i-un gyda phobl ag HD mewn campfeydd cymunedol ac yn eu cartrefi, datblygu protocolau a gweithdrefnau gweithredu safonol ar gyfer casglu data a darparu ymyrraeth, monitro astudio, datblygu a rheoli cronfa ddata, aseswyr hyfforddiant a staff sy'n darparu'r ymyriadau, dadansoddi data, cyfraniad at adroddiadau a llawysgrifau cyllidwyr i'w cyhoeddi, trefnu seminarau/cynadleddau lledaenu, Dyddiau teuluol Cymdeithas Clefyd Huntington, a chyflwyniadau poster cynadleddau.
Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n arwain y gwerthusiad proses ar gyfer treial rhyngwladol mawr rhyngwladol (y DU, yr Unol Daleithiau, Sbaen, yr Almaen) o weithgaredd corfforol rheoledig ar hap yng nghlwy'r Huntington; Gweithgaredd corfforol a chanlyniadau ymarfer corff mewn clefyd Huntington (PACE-HD). Roedd prosiect ymchwil a gwblhawyd yn ddiweddar fel cyd-ymgeisydd (dan arweiniad Dr Una Jones) yn gydweithrediad a ariannwyd gan Gymdeithas Clefyd Huntington i ddatblygu Offeryn Gweithgarwch Corfforol mewn clefyd Huntington gyda Grŵp Ffisiotherapi Clefyd Huntington Caerdydd a nifer o gydweithredwyr rhyngwladol gan gynnwys ffisiotherapyddion PWG EHDN. Fel aelod annatod o grŵp Cardiff HD, fe'm henwyd ar achos effaith REF 2021 o'r enw 'Therapi Corfforol i Wella Prognosis mewn Clefyd Huntington'.
Rwyf wedi dangos cyhoeddiadau REF o ansawdd uchel sy'n rhyngwladol ac yn arwain y byd ac wedi cydweithio ar draws HCARE, coleg BLS, clinig Clefyd Huntington Caerdydd, a phartneriaid a sefydliadau allanol (European Huntington's Disease Network, European Huntington's Association; Huntington's Disease Association of England and Wales; Sefydliad Ieuenctid Huntington's Disease; Gweithgor ffisiotherapi Rhwydwaith Clefyd Huntington Ewropeaidd (cyd-gadeirydd); Uned Anhwylderau Symud, Canolfan Feddygol Tel Aviv, Israel; Coleg yr Athro, Prifysgol Colombia, Efrog Newydd).
Canolbwyntiodd fy PhD ar ddeall cyfranogiad gweithgarwch corfforol ar gyfer pobl â chlefyd Huntington ar draws camau y clefyd er mwyn llywio gwybodaeth am ddatblygiad ymyriadau gweithgaredd corfforol priodol a pherthnasol. Arweiniodd hyn at fy ymwneud â datblygu'r sylfeini damcaniaethol ar gyfer ymyrraeth PACE-HD. Mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn cynnwys cyfranogiad corfforol, profiadau ac ymddygiad mewn pobl â chyflyrau niwrolegol, yn enwedig mewn dementia a chlefyd Huntington, cydgynllunio ymyrraeth â rhanddeiliaid, a gwerthuso ymyriadau cymhleth mewn ffisiotherapi.
