Overview
Students of pharmacy and biomedical science need a basic understanding of the medicine development and regulatory review process. Gamification is one approach for engaging students in this subject matter. I developed the MeduMaZe(R) board game for this purpose and it has been used for several years at Cardiff University and elsewhere. My project includes formally documenting the development and testing of an upversioned edition of this game, drawing on my experience in pharmaceutical R&D in the US and UK, together with input from subject matter experts in industry and academia, and employing current principles of learning theory and instructional design.
