Overview

I am a PhD Student enrolled within the Management, Employment, and Organisation (MEO) Section of the Cardiff Business School, working on the Project: Healthcare Planning in Action: Roles, Relationships, and Support. My project explores healthcare planning through a three pronged approach of Policy, Theory, and Practice. The Policy aspect explores the conceptualisation and characterisation of healthcare planning. The theoretical perspective aims at characterising the management roles and functions of healthcare planners through Biddle's role theory and Nicolini's practice lens. The practice component of the project aims at establishing the social and professional role identities of healthcare planners in terms of their competencies and hybrid professional status.

Research

Over my tenure as a Management Student, during my MBA and MA in Human Resource Management, and MSc in Social Science Research Methods, I have been interested in core HR and Organisational Behaviour related specialisms such as Medical Leadership, Leadership-as-Practice, and Management Roles especially within the content of the English and the Welsh NHS. At present, I am researching healthcare planning and the roles and relationships of healthcare planners in the context of the Welsh NHS. From an HR practice perspective, I am also inclined towards behavioural competency frameworks, organisational core-competence, and training and development.

Biography

I am a former postgraduate student in Human Resources Management from the University of Westminster, London and an MBA from the FORE School of Management, New Delhi. I also hold an additional Masters degree in Social Science Research Methods from Cardiff University, prior to the start of my PhD in Business Studies. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in HRM at the Cardiff Business School, funded by the Hodge Foundation. As a former HR Major during my MBA at the FORE School of Management, Delhi, my tryst with academia developed due to my previous affiliation with scientific studies as an undergrad and postgraduate student of Zoology and Human Molecular Biology. My differential academic background aided in leveraging my scientific temperament into management studies, thereby strengthening my proclivity to Human Resources and Organisational Behaviour. I also hold teaching experience at the undergraduate level at both the University of Delhi, India and Cardiff University, U.K. within subjects pertaining to HRM and Organisational behaviour.
